Our response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

As the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation continues to change and impact our lives, Greater Ramsey Water District (GRWD) is taking steps to continue to provide uninterrupted service.  We understand that a dependable supply of water is essential for the needs of all our customers and we want to reassure you that we are committed to reliable and uninterrupted delivery of water throughout this crisis.

We recognize one of the best ways to reduce the spread of this virus is social distancing and limiting contact.  With health and safety concerns in mind, below are details about some of the measures we are taking to help minimize the impact of COVID-19 on our customers, employees and the communities we serve.

YOUR WATER IS SAFE.  GRWD’s source of water is from deep wells that are not as susceptible to coronavirus contamination in the raw water.  Additionally, GRWD ensures continuous monitoring and utilization of disinfectants in the treatment process before placing it in the pipelines to you.  We continue to take water samples throughout the system to ensure it meets requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act.  Prior to entering a home for the purpose of collecting samples, we will be contacting the resident to make sure they are feeling well.  If needed, GRWD may set up alternate locations for water sampling.

GRWD will provide emergency service only on site for the health and safety of our customers and employees.  Routine service calls will be suspended at the present time.  If you are experiencing an emergency situation, such as loss of water pressure or sewer backup, please contact our office.  An assessment will be made at that time whether staff will be dispatched.

RURAL SEWER CUSTOMERS:  Flush toilet paper only into your sewer.  Any issues that may arise due to use of any other materials will be at your expense.  “Flushable” wipes and paper towels are not acceptable materials to be flushed.  This policy will be strictly enforced.

Our office continues to remain open during our normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 7 am -3:30 pm.  This may be re-evaluated due to ongoing concerns.  To reduce social interaction we are asking customers to conduct business with us through electronic means whenever necessary.   Consider calling us if your business can be conducted by phone.   Also consider managing and/or paying your account online.  You can pay your bill electronically through your bank bill pay system or pay online through our website, www.grwdnd.com.  Now is a great time to set your account to autopay, which can be done through our website or by contacting our office. We also offer 24/7 pay by phone at 877-885-7968.

If paying in person, please utilize the payment drop box located on the side of the building entrance.  If you stop into our office, we ask that you maintain a distance between yourself and staff.

Like many other businesses, Greater Ramsey Water District is taking steps to protect the health of its employees and by daily disinfection of commonly used areas to contain the spread of this virus.  Updates and policy changes will be posted on our website, www.grwdnd.com.  We have also placed some links on our website that will provide you with additional resources and factual information from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  If you have any questions, please contact our office at 701-662-5781 or through the “Contact Us” link on our website.
